It’s been an exciting few months for Snow Cannon Games. In January we published our first title (Shadow Puppeteer for Wii U). In February we announced our second (Klang) and third (Teslagrad for Xbox One) titles. And to keep the good times rolling in March, we’re pumped to announce our fourth title: The Frostrune.
The Frostrune is a point-and-click adventure based on historically accurate Norse culture and environments that’s coming to PC, iOS, Android and Windows Phone in late 2016/early 2017. In The Frostrune, players find themselves shipwrecked on an island after a summer storm. Nearby, there’s a recently abandoned settlement and signs that its inhabitants left in a hurry. Surrounding the village is a dark, dense forest with forgotten rune stones and burial mounds. Among them are secrets and hidden objects to solve the mysteries of the island.
The Frostrune is being built by Grimnir, an indie developer comprised of Norse mythology and history enthusiasts that’s gone to great lengths to not only build an engaging game, but ensure every in-game scene, item and even spoken word are representative of the Viking age.
We’ll be showcasing The Frostrune at GDC Play next week. If you’re going to the show, or will be in the San Fran area and just need a Viking fix, be sure to stop by booth PL214 to check it out.
